a new week...

Had a good weekend. Friday, went shopping a little-got a new microwave (had to, the other one was spewing sparks) and found a new phone on clearance. (other one, we could no longer read the caller ID). So that was good way to start it off. Then found a new shirt at Target. Normally I never find anything at Target, they don't seem to like plus size women. Went home and my DH grilled Bre and I chicken wings. We love they way he grills them. There is nothing that compares.
Saturday, we slept in-so nice. Bre and I went to the mall and I found two more shirts. This time at Lane Bryant. Now I always browse this store, but usually don't buy unless I can find something in the clearance section, but I hit the right day. Everything in the store was 40% off. At first I thought it was some kind of gimmick. But it wasn't. I was so happy. Then went to Syd's Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Just seeing her have so much fun was a happy thing. She is such a cutie pie. Every time I tried to take a picture, she stopped what she was doing and gave me an ear to ear grin. Loved that. Then on the way home (7:30) Dh called and said how would you like me to take you to dinner. Let's see no cooking two nights in a row, sounds good to me. We went and had a great Mexican dinner and just some good family bonding time. That was the end to a perfect weekend for me. My work weeks starts on Sunday, so one day down four more to go. Hope everybody had a great weekend too.

random thoughts...

Sitting here again today, Bre is still home from school sick. Haven't gotten to much accomplished other than scrapbooking stuff. I have been surfing the web, reading the message boards, looking at blogs and actually scrapbooking. I have to say it has been pretty nice, except for the sick part. It is just nice to be able to walk around my house and do whatever I want without having to worry about a schedule. We live in such a hurry up world, and I just don't tick that way. I do have to go back to work, but I think I am going to make a huge effort to start enjoying the little things more. I have realized that everything doesn't have to get done now. It will most definitely be there tomorrow, and if it isn't well I guess it just really wasn't that important in the scheme of things. Since we have been forced to stay in the house we have had a couple of really nice conversations. I am so proud of my girl. Yes, she is a preteen and is doing all the things that drive a parent crazy at times, but deep down she is an amazing person that I know will offer great things to the world. Something that made me so proud, she went online to her teachers websites and started doing all the homework she has missed. I didn't have to say a word, she did it on her own. I know I never would have done that at her age. She is feeling much better this afternoon, so we will be trudging out into the real world again tomorrow. Back to the schedules. Back to the hurry up world.

Today is also one very special little girls Birthday---so I want to send her a hug and tell her Happy Birthday. Sydnie, we love you and hope you have had a great 6th birthday. I feel so lucky to have my bff and her 2 little girls in my life. They are family to me, and I hope they know that.

Monday:)

Guess what we got in today???? Some new Prima goodness. Yep, we got in the new IOD tapes. They are so darn good. There is a letter one, a couple of flourishy ones, a filmstrip one, a crown one, and I'm not sure what else. We also got more sheer flowers and more sprites. Tommorrow we will be getting the rest of Glitz, so excited. Good stuff two days in a row. woo hoo.
I think I've had to much caffeine. lol. Hope everyone is doing good. Bre and I are fighting the stomach yuckiness. Hope it passes it quick.

weekend stuff...

Just got back from teaching a class a little while ago. About once every month or so, I have a group of foster girls that I do a class with. Even though they have had some pretty horrific things happen in their lives, they are amazingly positive, and they know they are going to make their lives better. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to help them see not everyone in the world is going to hurt them. I think they are truly amazing girls with a huge potential.

I've been scrapping every night, can't post them though because I have plans for them. Wish me luck;) I'm gonna leave you with another picture from our trip to the beach. Love the way some of these turned out.

sunday...

Well, it's Sunday, last day of vacation:( We had a great vacation. First, didn't get sick. (this is a standing joke at work, I always seem to get sick.) Second, just had a relaxing time--no time constraints, just kind of went with the flow. Third, Got quite alot of scrapping done and I haven't burned out yet-lol. So all in all I would say this has been the best in years.

new stuff...

I can't believe our vacation is almost over, but it is and we will be back to the real world come Monday. I didn't get all that I hoped done, but I think this was the most relaxing vacation I have had in years. I did get alot of scrapping and cleaning done so I'm really happy with that. I also got to spend alot of quality time with Bre and that was real good. I truly love the person she is growing into. She is and awesome young woman.

I went to crop with Nita, Kristy and Stephanie last night. Syd and Bre kept each other entertained and did their own cropping, so cute. I hope they had as much fun as me. It just feels so good to have girl time, laughingand giggling, talking and cropping. I only got one lo done but I am totally okay with that. I really hope this works out to be a once a month thing (maybe more).

Here are the newest lo's.

beach...

We went to the beach yesterday with Nita and the kids. We had a blast. The kids played in the ocean, running, squealing and climbing the rocks. We left the beach for a while and ate at Bubba Gump's. If you haven't eaten here---you must. Julie is the one who introduced me to it, and of course I had to introduce Nita. I think she liked it as much as I do. We went back to the beach for some sunset pics only to be chased off by the beach patrol. The beach was closing to traffic.

But I think we managed to get some pretty good pics. Here is one of my favorites of Bre.

Stash it forward...

I was blog surfing today and checked Emily's blog. She is doing this stash it forward thing, and I absolutely love the idea, so I decided to join in. I have a box of left overs and stuff I just won't use waiting for a good home. If you don't have much of a budget for scrappy stuff, leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Sunday ( United States only please), and if anyone else out there would like to participate, leave a comment on Emily's blog with a link.
Thanks for this great idea Em.

this man and other stuff...

I am loving this Heidi Swapp paper. I went today and bought more (don't want to run out, lol).

This is my sweet hubbie. I love this picture of him, I took it on Easter at his parents house.

I also went and had lunch with the stamping group of ladies. They found out I was on vacation this week and invited me to come and join their Tuesday group. It was nice to be able to get together with them out of the store. So, I just wanted to thank them for inviting Bre and I to join in their fun.

Looking forward to Friday Night, Meeting my group of girls at the "other" store for a little fun of our own. It will be nice to spend some time with them.

a new one

I love this pic of K and his dad. I am feeling very creative right now. The funny thing is every time I finish with a new lo, I have to clean up. I've never felt this impulse before but I'm liking it. I want to keep my room organized and maybe it will keep being this easy. At least for a while;). Anyway maybe I can get some more done tomorrow. I have to go get some pics developed. I tried to do it yesterday and let's just say it wasn't working for me. I'm gonna try a different CVS. Wish me luck.

sharing...

Just wanted to share these oldies before I get started on the new ones. These are some of my favs over the last few months.

Vacation....

Today is my first day of vacation and it feels soooo good. I am planning on resting and having fun, spending time with Bre, seeing friends and scrapping. I am going tomorrow to get a bunch of pics developed, and hopefully they will fill me with inspiration.
In other news, I went to teresacollins.typepad.com and guess who she featured on her blog, yep me. I was so excited I called my mom and Nita screeching. I know silly, but it just feels good to be recognized I guess. Thanks Nita and Kristy for the encouragment.
I think I am going to try and get a few more layouts put on today. We'll see how that goes.
Also My DH bought me a flip camera, I am going to try and do a video on here as soon as I figure out what to video. lol.
